What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Enter data into scheduling and billing software for all incoming surgical cases from facilities and surgeon office staff
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, conflicts, or missing information through communication with relevant parties
- Post cases according to division-specific requirements, including patient demographics and procedure details
- Communicate effectively with internal and external clients, including anesthesia providers and patients
- Provide backup coverage for other divisions as needed
What Is Required (Qualifications)
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 1-3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of medical practices and terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with a multi-line phone system and ability to manage a high volume of phone and computer work
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Previous surgery scheduling experience is preferred but not required
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business reports and government regulations
- Strong problem-solving skills in non-standard situations
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Flexible schedule to accommodate varying shifts and overtime as needed
