About the Firm
We are a boutique litigation law firm located in San Francisco. We are a small, collaborative team focused on executive and founder disputes and high-stakes litigation. Every member of our team is essential to our daily success and the service we provide to our clients.
The Role
This position is ideal for a proactive individual who exercises independent judgment and can reliably manage both complex litigation (70%) and the daily operations of a boutique law firm (30%). This dual-purpose role combines high-level support for our attorneys with essential office administration and billing coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Litigation Support & Paralegal Duties:
- Provide comprehensive support to firm attorneys, including drafting, proofreading, and managing litigation documents (pleadings, motions, and discovery).
- Maintain proficiency in Bluebooking and electronic court filing (e-filing) across both state and federal courts.
- Responsible for the firm’s calendaring and docketing; utilizing deadlines.com to ensure all court deadlines are captured and that attorneys are prepared to meet filing standards.
- Conduct legal research and maintain meticulously organized digital and physical case files.
Office Administration:
- Manage all incoming and outgoing mail and legal deliveries.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for firm vendors and process vendor payments.
- Oversee general office organization and administrative needs for our San Francisco suite.
- Oversee internal bookkeeper.
Billing Coordination:
- Lead the firm’s monthly billing process using Clio, ensuring all attorney time and expenses are ready for invoicing.
- Overseeing submission of payroll.
- Specifically responsible for auditing and entering all third-party costs and disbursements into Clio each month to ensure accurate client pass-through billing.
- Coordinate with the firm’s outside bookkeeper to provide necessary documentation; light familiarity with QuickBooks Online is helpful, but deep technical knowledge is not required.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably within a litigation environment.
Software Proficiency:
- Experience with Clio (or similar legal practice management software) is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with deadlines.com or similar rules-based calendaring software is a significant plus.
- Experience with document review platforms such as Everlaw is a plus.
- Basic comfort with QuickBooks Online to assist our outside bookkeeper as needed.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal document management.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $48,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
