Job Summary
Caring Hands Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. We offer a Monday-Thursday schedule of 7:00am- 5:00pm. No evenings or weekends.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in veterinary practice terminology, accuracy in veterinary record keeping , and the ability to enter charges and prescription directions in Avimark or a similar practice management software.
As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, managing appointments, patient records, entering charges, taking payment and other administrative tasks with professionalism and efficiency. Your role is vital in ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering outstanding client service.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and provide excellent customer service while managing appointment scheduling and client inquiries.
- Enter client charges and prescription directions into Avimark practice management software.
- Handle billing and payments
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and laboratory results.
- Facilitate communication between clients and veterinary team regarding treatment procedures, follow-up care, and medication instructions.
- Demonstrate proficiency in veterinary terminology.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Receptionist or in a similar administrative role within a veterinary practice.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to accuracy and detail in record keeping and administrative tasks.
- Effective and confident communication skills to interact professionally with clients, staff, and external vendors.
- Ability to read cursive
- Previous experience with Avimark or similar software preferred
Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
