- Maintains a working knowledge of admissions policy for their specific job area.
- Receives, sorts and distributes incoming mail.
- Provide customer service support at our office windows and via phone calls as it relates to international undergraduate admissions.
- Provide customer service support at our office windows and via phone calls as it relates to residency.
- Responds to emails regarding application materials
- Performs general office duties as needed
- May be required to cross-train in other areas of Admissions to assist as needed
- Answering phone calls and emails regarding residency
- Assisting students and parents at the walk-up window
- Completing basic residency evaluations
- Maintaining a working knowledge of Utah residency policies
- Other clerical and office duties as assigned
- Incumbents in this position work under close supervision, perform repetitive tasks and may be required to perform under strict deadlines.
- Must be a current University of Utah student
- Experience and/or interest in working with students and/or Admissions
- Commitment of 15-19 hours per week
- Ability to work at least three hours at a time
- One year of general office experience or equivalency preferred
- One-year data entry experience or equivalency preferred
- Experience or interest working in education or public administration preferred
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software systems
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong speaking/phone skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to relay complex information to students, parents, and other campus partners
- Strong professional writing ability
- Ability to adapt to updated policies and processes
- High attention to detail and ability to proofread and verify data
