JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: ReStore/Administrative Assistant

Reports To: ReStore Manager/Executive Director

ReStore Schedule: Monday – Saturday (schedule varies)

Requirements

90 Day Probation Period

· Commitment to Habitat’s housing goals and mission.

· Must be friendly and courteous with good customer service skills.

· Must be flexible, dependable and have a positive attitude.

· Must have professional demeanor and remain friendly and polite when faced with difficult situations.

· A minimum of 1-2 years of related experience in online sales, visual display, etc.

· Excellent customer service skills

· Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment

· Ability to adapt to a changing environment and unexpected shifts in priorities

· Ability to relate to and work well with a variety of people

· Effective time management and organizational skills

· Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets, word processing and email

· Valid North Carolina Driver’s License and clean driving record

· Clean background check

· High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred experiences

· Working knowledge of Lincoln County

· Nonprofit experience

· Experience training staff/volunteers

Must be able to communicate clearly, respectfully and appropriately with customers, donors, staff, volunteers, Board members and community representatives

Must be able to communicate clearly and appropriately in all reports and correspondences including emails

Vision

Must be able to appropriately review and document in multiple ways, including paper and electronic

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

Approximately 50% spent in office/retail environment

Position RESPONSIBILITIES

Register

Assist with register

Maintain a clean, orderly and attractive area.

Uphold the ReStore and customer service policies, guideline and procedures, ensuring consistent and effective ReStore operations and an enjoyable customer, donor, employee and volunteer

· Make sure that all necessary supplies are in stock

· Be able to access sold items and produce receipts, mark items sold

· Complete any customer refunds or credits that are required.

· Develop a thorough understanding of Habitat for Humanity’s goals, mission, philosophy and policies and demonstrates tis understanding in daily interactions.

· Other duties as assigned by the ReStore Manager, ReStore Assistant Managers and/or Executive Director.

Donations

· Answer phones and schedule donation pickups

· Schedule and approve all private party donation pickups

· Assure that all donations go directly to designated areas, are cleaned, priced and photographed prior to being placed in the ReStore

· Ensure payment received from buyer, paperwork signed prior to release of merchandise

· Ensure compliance with safety standards and comply with accident procedures

· Address and document violations of policies immediately with the ReStore Manager

· Work effectively in a team-based environment

· Work in the ReStore sales floor as necessary

· Comply and abide by all policies and procedures for Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln County ReStore

Office

· Maintain a list of necessary supplies needed

· Record Volunteer Hours

· Create all necessary signs for ReStores

· Maintain names and numbers for customers and volunteers

· Build and maintain private party donation database

Make sure customer names and email addresses are updated

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: $10.00 per hour
