Position: Recreation Clerk 2

This position works in the Burnaby Art Gallery organizational unit. This is public contact and moderately complex clerical work, involving organizing and monitoring the efficient operation of office support services in a recreation facility.

Responsibilities include:

  • Organizing, monitoring, and participating in clerical procedures such as reception, registration, and answering phones.
  • Supervising, scheduling, assigning, reviewing, and participating in the work of one or more subordinates.
  • Coordinating the program registration process, overseeing and participating in the processing of program registration and/or bookings.
  • Verifying and recording cash receipts.
  • Answering a variety of enquiries related to facility programs, rules, and regulations.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with community groups, the public, and internal contacts.
  • Developing and maintaining adherence to cash handling and related security procedures.
  • Preparing and maintaining a variety of records and files.

Qualifications include completion of Grade 12 plus commercial and word processing courses; sound related office and cash handling experience with some supervisory experience; knowledge of departmental policies, practices, rules, and regulations; ability to supervise, train, assign, review, and evaluate clerical staff. A valid Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia may be required. A Police Information Check is required for this position.

This is a Temporary Full-Time position until July 24, 2028.

Schedule:

70 hours bi-weekly;
Monday to Friday 9:15 AM – 4:45 PM (Mutually Agreement between Monday – Sunday 9:15 AM – 9:30 PM).
