About Us: Midwestern Construction Inc. is a leading construction company committed to excellence in safety, quality, and productivity. We are seeking a dedicated Office Assistant / HR Assistant to join our team and support our administrative and human resources functions.

Job Description: The Office Assistant / HR Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting our office operations and HR department. This position requires a highly organized and proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day-to-day office operations, including answering phones, managing correspondence, and maintaining office supplies.
  • Support the HR department with maintaining employee records, and coordinating training sessions.
  • File documents and maintain organized office records.
  • Create and maintain employee files, ensuring all folders are complete.
  • Complete enrollment paperwork for new hires and manage employee records.
  • Upload and keep track of PTO requests.
  • Schedule interviews for hiring and assist with the recruitment process.
  • Perform reconciliations and manage credit card entries.
  • Conduct daily checks on credit card transactions and ensure accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Business Administration or Human Resources preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an office or HR assistant role, preferably in a construction or similar industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive problem solver.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 – $20.00 per hour
