UCA General Insurance Services is a Commercial Insurance MGA writing preferred insurance products in Hospitality, Habitational, and other classes of program business since 1984. Many of our employees have been with the company for more than 10 years.
We are seeking an entry-level Underwriting/Clerical Assistant. The ideal candidate would be an individual with some familiarity with the commercial property & casualty insurance industry or some experience working in an insurance office.
Preferred Candidate:
- Some experience in an assistant role or similar clerical position in the insurance industry, preferably property & casualty insurance.
- Understands and can follow clerical support procedures. Attention to detail is a must. Able to communicate effectively.
- Has the ability to manage account documentation i.e., accurate data entry, policy change, endorsements, cancellations, etc. Able to assist the Underwriter with follow-up.
- Has a positive attitude and is able to develop professional and courteous relationships with an emphasis on customer service with Account Executives, CSRs, and Agents.
- Able to take responsibility and function independently, as well as reach out for assistance from team members when needed.
- Demonstrates willingness to broaden knowledge & skills. Our company typically prefers to promote from within.
- Must be trustworthy, dependable, and self-motivated.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of clerical/administrative office experience or relevant higher education is preferred. Experience in a property & casualty insurance office is even better.
- Proficient in office software/technology and must have accurate typing skills. Candidate can effectively utilize Windows OS, MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, internet search, etc.

Pay Range
$22-28 per hour, depending on experience.
Hours/Location
This is an in-office position, not remote.
Our hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, and are conveniently located in North Orange County in Cypress, CA.
