Job Description
The Order of Malta – Federal Association, U.S.A., a Roman Catholic lay religious order and 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in Dupont Circle, Washington, DC, has an immediate opening for a full-time Program & Administrative Coordinator.
Position Summary:
This person provides administrative support to the Executive Director and will assist in the management functioning of the Executive Office. S/he will join an office team supporting the wide range work(s) of members in the Federal Association. This is a full-time and in-person position that reports to the Executive Director, with much opportunity for professional advancement.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- -Administrative management with the Executive Director (e.g., written and verbal communications, schedule arrangements, etc.)
- -Special event planning and project coordination
- -Member services support
- -Other duties and responsibilities as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- -Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
- -Strong written and oral communication skills
- -Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team
- -Manage deadlines and ability to multitask
- -Proficiency with MS Office Suite
The Order of Malta – Federal Association, U.S.A. office is located one block from Dupont Circle metro station and is accessible by Metrorail and Metrobus.

The Order of Malta is an international, Catholic relief organization that is over 900 years old. There are 11,000 members around the world, all dedicated to serving the poor and the sick. The membership is split into 50 chapters worldwide, and the Federal Association is one of the three in the United States.
The Federal Association has 850 members nationwide. All of its members are encouraged to volunteer at one of the Order’s service projects in their region. Members are volunteering at soup kitchens, homeless shelters, health clinics, food banks, and assisted living facilities in 16 cities nationwide.
In addition, the Federal Association operates an extensive domestic and international grants program, each year distributing millions of dollars worth of food, medicine, and other relief
