Job Overview
The Payroll Clerk must carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position with a view to maximize the efficiency of the office, have a working knowledge of basic bookkeeping, computers and general office administration. The Payroll Clerk must also coordinate and administrate the office activities for the Human Resources department in accordance with company policies and objectives.
Duties
- Assist with establishing, organizing and maintaining a central filling system for all personnel files.
- Assist with establishing, organizing and maintaining archived files.
- Coordinate with the HR Manager and other Department Managers the daily collection of timesheets.
- Process daily collection and print time sheets for each department weekly; distribute to each department manager daily.
- Assist in distribution of payroll.
- Act as liaison between payroll processing service and staff on payroll matters.
- Prepare necessary payroll disk for submission to payroll service.
- Process KRONOS system for input for new employees and delete terminated or resigned employees.
- Input vacation and sick leave documentation into KRONOS system.
- Print hours summary and wage report for HR Manager.
- Maintain KRONOS system for input of changes to personnel information regarding wages, department location, addresses, etc.
- Reconcile projected payroll hours and wage with payroll processing company invoices.
- Assist with establishing insurance, 401K, accounts receivable and payroll deduction with related invoices.
- Assist with establishing, organizing, and maintaining payroll database for management information purposes.
- Performs other duties as may be required by the mission of the HR Office.

- Must be proficient in the use of English language (written and oral).

- Must have computer knowledge.
- Proven experience with payroll management systems such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos or UltiPro is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including debits & credits, journal entries, general ledger accounting, and bookkeeping practices.
- Familiarity with financial concepts related to corporate accounting and non-profit accounting is a plus.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in 10 key typing is essential.
- Ability to analyze financial data effectively using accounting software like QuickBooks or similar tools.
- Experience with benefits administration processes and governmental reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of tax regulations affecting payroll processing and experience with account reconciliation procedures.
Preferable Experience
- High school diploma, preferably with prior payroll clerk experience or related work; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the preferable knowledge, abilities and skills.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
