<Duties>

  • Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and assist with appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems
  • Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing clear information and directing calls appropriately.
  • Verify insurance benefits, perform insurance authorization and verification procedures, and handle billing processes including medical collection efforts.
  • Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation for completeness, coding using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding standards.
  • Support clinical staff by preparing patient intake forms, updating health information management records, and assisting with care plan documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality during all administrative tasks.
  • Utilize office management software such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Process payments for copays and deductibles

<Requirements>

  • Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office administrative support role; clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix or Eaglesoft is essential.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and multi-line phone systems.
  • Ability to review medical documentation accurately while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced environments.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times.
  • Prior experience with insurance verification, Medicare processes, medical collection efforts, and hospital or dental clinic settings is advantageous.
