The Medical Records Supervisor position at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Greene offers a chance to lead important work that supports high quality inmate health care. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position oversees the organization and maintenance of inmate medical records and supports the daily operations of the medical records unit. The role ensures accuracy, compliance, and effective coordination of health information throughout the facility. As a Medical Records Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
Staff Supervision: Oversee daily work, assign tasks, and support the training and development of staff
Record Management: Maintain and monitor the integrated health record system to ensure accuracy and compliance
File Processing: Handle filing, issuing, transferring, and presenting medical records according to regulations
Record Review: Examine records for completeness and refer issues to appropriate medical staff
Report Preparation: Prepare statistical reports and organize records for management review
Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance efforts and evaluate record maintenance practices

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes).- You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Special Requirement:
- You must have possession of a valid Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certificate or a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certificate issued by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), or eligibility for certification including completion of an AHIMA approved RHIT or RHIA Health Information Management education program.
Post Employment Requirement:
- If you meet the Special Requirement based on the eligibility option for the RHIT or RHIA certification, you must obtain one of these certifications within 12 months of employment.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
