Job Description
Job Title: Material Handler
Department: Crib
Reports to: Plant Manager
Job Qualifications:
- High School graduate
- Computer-oriented clerical skills
- Ability to operate or learn to operate a fork lift truck and department scale
- Strong people skills and committed to fostering good associate relations
- Detail Oriented
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
- Operate personal computer to access e-mail and other basic office support software.
- Maintain accurate inventory of all parts and supplies.
- Issue parts and supplies to active Travelers or Purchase Orders. Maintain records and paperwork.
- Update inventories and reports.
- Investigate and reconcile problems and potential problems associated with material control.
- Respool cable when necessary.
- Coordinate and/or transport reels to and from departments daily.
- Promote teamwork and continual improvement.
- Maintain good work habits.
- This administrative position requires the following physical abilities:
- Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard.
- Handling by seizing, holding, grasping, turning or otherwise working with the hand or hands.
- Standing for extended periods of time.
- Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time.
- Lifting, carrying objects weighing 50 lbs. or less.
- Pushing, pulling objects weighing 30 lbs. or less.
- Knowledge that Continental Cable is an ISO/AS certified company and understands the Quality Policy.
- Maintain a safe work environment at all times and follow all Continental Cable safety policies including safety glasses, work shoes and all required personal protection equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
