Catholic Charities of the Diocese of La Crosse is seeking a compassionate, organized, and community-focused Journeys Support Specialist to join our team based out of our Greenfield office.
This part-time position plays an important role in supporting Wisconsin families involved in adoption and out-of-home care by planning, promoting, and coordinating programs, events, and services that strengthen families and build community connections.
Position Details
- Position: Journeys Support Specialist
- Location: Greenfield, WI
- Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week (in-office)
- Starting Pay: Approximately $25.00 per hour, based on education and experience
Position Summary
The Journeys Support Specialist is responsible for coordinating activities and services for Wisconsin families involved in adoption, foster care, kinship care, and other out-of-home care arrangements in accordance with program contracts. This position works closely with caregivers, youth, and community partners to provide meaningful opportunities for education, support, and connection.
Regular travel and outreach throughout the service region are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, promote, coordinate, and facilitate family events, support groups, and networking opportunities.
- Develop engaging activities for caregivers, youth, and families involved in adoption and out-of-home care.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
- Conduct outreach to families and community organizations throughout the region.
- Ensure program activities meet contractual requirements and organizational standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation and program records.
- Support the mission and values of Catholic Charities through compassionate, professional service.
Qualifications Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, or a related field.
Preferred Experience
- Two years of experience or relevant knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Adoption
- Foster care
- Kinship care
- Family services
Candidates with a combination of education and relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- Successful completion of a background check.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Reliable personal transportation.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Proof of automobile insurance.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned service area.
