About The Role

The Human Resources Assistant at United Medical Systems plays a vital role in supporting the HR department's daily operations. This position involves managing administrative functions related to payroll, credentialing, employee onboarding, and record keeping. The HR Assistant serves as a key point of contact for employee inquiries, ensuring that communication flows smoothly between staff and management. This role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and professionalism, particularly when handling sensitive information. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with team members to uphold HR policies and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma, with an associate or bachelor's degree preferred. A minimum of one to three years of experience in HR or payroll environments is desirable, providing familiarity with HR processes and systems. Experience with UKG Ready or similar HRIS platforms is advantageous. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with employees and management. Strong interpersonal skills are required to manage sensitive situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software is expected, along with excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and current human resource files, records, and documentation, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies.
  • Respond to frequently asked questions from applicants and employees regarding policies, benefits, and hiring procedures; escalate complex issues to senior HR staff or management as needed.
  • Support employee onboarding and orientation processes, including enrollment in benefits and dissemination of employment information.
  • Provide clerical support to the HR department, including processing payroll, credentialing, and maintaining employee records.
  • Assist with payroll functions such as data entry, reporting, and addressing employee inquiries related to compensation.
  • Manage front reception duties, covering the reception desk when the Administrative Assistant or Receptionist is unavailable.
  • Support credentialing activities by assisting field employees, maintaining compliance in vendor systems, and updating expiring documents to ensure regulatory adherence.
