Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hospice Office Receptionist-Administrative Assistant to serve as the first point of contact for patients, families, and healthcare providers. Duties
- Greet patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals warmly, providing exceptional patient service and maintaining a welcoming environment.
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and clear communication.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and assist with billing processes using medical billing and coding knowledge including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 codes.
- Schedule appointments accurately utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Maintain and update medical records with precision, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards.
- Assist with documentation review, data entry, filing, and managing medical records to support clinical staff efficiently.
- Support office management tasks including filing, faxing, scanning documents, and managing office supplies to ensure seamless daily operations.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
- Handle patient intake processes with care and professionalism while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive health information.
- Collaborate effectively with clinical teams to facilitate care plans and ensure accurate documentation of patient interactions.
Experience
- Prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is required; clinic or hospital experience is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in medical administrative support functions such as appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and billing procedures.
- Knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards for accurate documentation and billing.
- Experience working with health information management systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills complemented by bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations while providing outstanding customer service. Pay: $19.00 – $22.00 per hour
