Full-Time | Hourly + Commission | Entry-Level Opportunity with Growth

Joe Machens Volkswagen of Columbia is expanding our team and looking for a motivated, customer-focused individual to join our dealership in a hybrid BDC Agent / Receptionist role. This position is designed as an 85% Business Development Center (BDC) and 15% receptionist split, making it a perfect entry point into the automotive industry. No previous experience is required—we provide the training, tools, and support to help you succeed from day one. Position Overview

As a BDC Agent, you will be the first point of contact for many of our customers. All inbound calls are routed directly to you first, giving you the opportunity to connect with customers and set appointments for our sales team. You’ll work active leads, follow up with previous customers, and help generate new business for the dealership. In your receptionist capacity, you’ll support daily dealership operations with light administrative tasks to help keep the showroom running smoothly.

Responsibilities

BDC Responsibilities (Primary Focus – ~85%)
✔ Handle inbound customer calls and internet leads with the goal of setting appointments
✔ Work closely with the sales team to support active opportunities
✔ Follow up with previous customers and unsold prospects
✔ Generate new business through outbound calls, texts, and CRM tools
✔ Maintain accurate notes and activity in the CRM
✔ Provide a professional, helpful, and customer-first experience on every interaction

Receptionist Responsibilities (~15%)
✔ Stock in new and used vehicles as they arrive
✔ Assist with light phone handling and routing (call-tree system filters most calls)
✔ Restock office and showroom supplies as needed
✔ Support general front desk duties to keep operations running efficiently

Compensation

✔ Hourly base pay plus commission on appointments shown and appointments sold, with uncapped earning potential

Pay: $35,000.00 – $50,000.00 per year
