About The Role

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a Part-time Administrative Associate to join its dedicated team. In this vital role, you will provide essential administrative and operational support within the hospital's various departments. Your primary responsibilities will include managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and addressing patient inquiries with professionalism and compassion. As the first point of contact for patients, family members, and visitors, you will utilize excellent customer service skills to ensure a welcoming and efficient environment. Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent required
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Microsoft Office experience preferred
  • One year of experience in a medical environment preferred
  • Completion of a healthcare-related certificate program preferred
  • Transferable skills such as call center, customer service application, or clerical experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the assigned department or unit
  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and family members, delivering excellent customer service
  • Manage patient records accurately and efficiently, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with hospital policies
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate patient care logistics
  • Handle patient inquiries via phone, email, or in person, providing timely and professional assistance
  • Collaborate with medical staff and management to facilitate smooth operational workflows
  • Assist with data entry, filing, and other clerical tasks as needed
  • Support hospital initiatives and participate in team meetings to improve administrative processes
