Administrative Assistant

The Simpson Companies is a full-service real estate construction, development, and property management firm serving Vermont and New Hampshire. We are seeking a dependable, organized Administrative Assistant to support all areas of our business, with a primary focus on our property management operations.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in keeping an office running efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls and greet visitors.
  • Provide administrative support to the Property Manager and other departments as needed.
  • Prepare correspondence, notices, reports, and maintain accurate records.
  • Schedule appointments and assist with day-to-day office operations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Section 8 and affordable housing inquiries.
  • Coordinate annual and interim recertifications, including obtaining income, asset, and third-party verifications.
  • Perform occasional local travel to properties, banks, post offices, and government agencies.
  • Assist with special projects for the construction, development, and property management teams.

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Comfortable working with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds and economic circumstances.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Previous office, administrative, customer service, or property management experience preferred, but not required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Personal cell phone required ($25/month cell phone stipend provided).
  • Local travel required; mileage reimbursed.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $22.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Monday–Friday schedule with evenings and weekends off.
  • Mileage reimbursement for business travel.
  • $25 monthly cell phone stipend.
  • Paid holidays, paid time off, and benefits in accordance with company policy.
