Assistant Director Conferences and Events, Tahlequah

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for coordinating the scheduling of conferences and events through the University Center. In addition, this position will manage all marketing efforts within auxiliary services, including university housing.

Major Duties

  • Schedules meeting spaces in the University Center and other assigned campus facilities; schedules the use of equipment, tables, chairs and other items.
  • Facilitates logistical support for clients.
  • Works with other university departments as needed to provide client services.
  • Coordinates the oversight of facility set-up.
  • Maintains database and scheduling program.
  • Participates in the planning and execution of designated university events.
  • Recruits, schedules, contracts and invoices summer conferences.
  • Assists in the hiring, training, supervision and evaluation of summer conference student staff.
  • Develops and implements auxiliary and housing marketing strategies.
  • Seeks opportunities to enhance auxiliary services image.

  • Skill in oral and written communication.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
  • Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years of experience or service.
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

Compensation: Annual salary: $43,896.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time.
