Job Summary:
The Vehicle Warranty Costing Clerk is responsible for accurately processing and submitting warranty claims to vehicle manufacturers. This role ensures that all warranty repairs are correctly costed, documented, and compliant with manufacturer policies, enabling timely reimbursement to the dealership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify repair orders for warranty-related work
- Accurately cost parts and labour for warranty claims
- Submit warranty claims to manufacturers within required time frames
- Ensure all claims comply with manufacturer guidelines and policies
- Investigate and resolve rejected or unpaid claims
- Maintain detailed and organized records of all warranty transactions
- Liaise with service advisors, technicians, and parts department staff
- Monitor outstanding claims and follow up on delays in payment
- Assist with warranty audits and reporting as required
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification with Mathematics
- Previous experience in an automotive dealership or similar environment (preferred)
- Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and repair processes
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Computer literacy (experience with dealership management systems is an advantage)
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities
