Duties
- Greet clients warmly and efficiently check in and out patients, ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere
- Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and manage the clinic’s calendar with precision
- Collect payments and process medical billing accurately, including handling pet care and animal husbandry charges
- Maintain detailed records of patient histories, treatments, and laboratory results using Avimark, veterinary software system
- Support veterinary staff with animal restraint, kennel management, and basic animal husbandry tasks if needed
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information on pet care, veterinary services, and clinic policies
- Ensure cleanliness and aseptic techniques are maintained in reception areas and during client interactions
Skills
- Proven experience as a veterinary receptionist or in a similar customer service role within an animal healthcare setting for at least 1 year
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and restraint techniques
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures, pet grooming, dog training, and pet grooming practices is a plus
- Ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint methods for dogs and cats if situation arises
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and veterinary staff
- Competence in managing pet care records, medical collections, and laboratory documentation
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques to support infection control protocols during clinical procedures
- Experience with kennel management or animal handling enhances your ability to support veterinary care efforts
