The Position: We’re looking for a qualified Veterinary Receptionist. The pay range we’re offering is $9-12/hr – commensurate to experience
- 8AM to 6PM: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
- 8AM to 1PM: Wednesday
- We offer veterinary services at a reduced rate, paid continuing education, licensing and organizational fees, and a uniform allowance
- High level of responsibility
- Potential for advancement as the practice grows
Requirements:
- High school or equivalent
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting recommended but not required
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Computer literacy
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greet clients and their pets, making them feel comfortable from check-in to check-out
- Maintenance of appointment schedule
- Management of medical records
- Communication with clients about their pets’ needs
- Answering multiple telephone lines
- Organize and stock office supplies
- Manage a cash drawer
- Collect and process payments
- Prepare deposits
- Provide hospitality services to new and existing clients
- Communicate with clients via telephone and e-mail regarding pet care
- Fill and dispense medications as prescribed by the veterinarian
- Check and respond to e-mails
- Manage reminders
- Daily cleaning duties
- Help care for pets in the hospital
- Help out in other areas of the hospital as needed
The Location:Fur Family Animal Hospital is based in Manhattan, Kansas. Manhattan was recently ranked #16 in the Top 100 Best Places to Live (livability.com). With Kansas State University in town, there’s always something to do. Tuttle Creek Lake and Milford Lake are both nearby offering great outdoor recreational opportunities. It’s also very family-friendly with fun places to visit such as the AZA-accredited Sunset Zoo and the Flint Hills Discovery Center.
The hospital is located in a booming economic growth center with plenty of new restaurants and shopping establishments coming in to the area. It is adjacent to (but independent of) a large boarding/daycare and grooming facility.
