Duties
- Greet clients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out procedures for pets and owners
- Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and coordinate with veterinary staff to optimize daily workflow
- Handle medical billing, insurance claims, and collections with accuracy and professionalism
- Maintain detailed records of pet medical histories, treatments, and laboratory results using veterinary software systems
- Assist with animal husbandry tasks such as kennel cleaning, feeding, and basic pet care when needed
- Support veterinary team members by preparing animals for procedures using animal restraint techniques and understanding veterinary terminology
- Manage phone inquiries, direct calls appropriately, and provide information on pet care, grooming, training, or boarding services
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, restraint techniques, and aseptic procedures
- Experience in medical collections, laboratory procedures, or veterinary critical care is highly desirable
- Familiarity with animal handling across various species including dogs, cats, horses (equine experience preferred), and small animals
- Prior kennel experience or pet grooming skills are a plus for supporting animal husbandry activities
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle pet owners compassionately while maintaining professionalism
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating attention to detail
- Basic proficiency in veterinary software systems and laboratory record keeping is preferred
