Responsibilities
- Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and outlook for each day. You will greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage the front desk with efficiency and professionalism while growing personal relationships with our pet parents and fur babies
- Collect payments, process medical collections, and handle billing accurately
- Maintain detailed and organized medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with veterinary standards
- Facilitate communication between pet owners and veterinary team members regarding treatment plans, medication instructions, and follow-up care
- Willingness and desire for continued learning for a quickly advancing industry
Skills
Experience as a veterinary receptionist for at least 2 years required
- Familiar with Cornerstone Veterinary Software a HUGE plus
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy, various breeds
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain medical records, ability to read and recognize various terms with in veterinary records for proper historical vaccines and medical treatment entry
- Ability to maintain compassion and empathy while interacting with clients
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners, veterinary staff, and external partners
- Knowledge of veterinary critical care practices
- Ability to learn and navigate veterinary specific software – Cornerstone
- Must have basic knowledge of Vaccine Protocols set forth by the AVMA
- Knowledge about common Heartworm Preventions, as well as Flea and Tick Control products available
