Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinarian Receptionist, where you will be the friendly face and organized voice that keeps our clinic running smoothly. You will manage appointment scheduling, handle medical collections, and coordinate communication between clients and veterinary staff. Duties
- Greet pet owners and visitors warmly, providing outstanding customer service and ensuring a positive first impression
- Schedule appointments efficiently, balancing client needs with veterinarian availability
- Manage medical billing and collections accurately, ensuring timely processing of payments and insurance claims
- Assist with animal handling tasks such as dog handling, animal restraint, and basic pet care guidance
- Maintain detailed records of pet health information, treatment plans, and laboratory results
- Support kennel operations by coordinating animal husbandry activities and ensuring proper animal care protocols are followed
- Communicate effectively with veterinary staff regarding patient status, laboratory results, and treatment updates
- Handle administrative tasks including answering phones, managing patient files, and updating veterinary terminology in records
Qualifications
- Previous experience in veterinary reception or related administrative roles preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and aseptic techniques is highly desirable
- Experience with medical collection procedures and laboratory processes is a plus
- Familiarity with animal husbandry practices, pet grooming, dog training, and pet care enhances your ability to support our team
- Strong animal handling skills including dog handling, animal restraint, and equine experience are beneficial
- Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with clients and team members
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- A passion for animal welfare combined with a proactive approach to customer service
