JOB SUMMARY: Contributes to Winchester Physician Associate’s (WPA) mission by
performing a variety of clerical support functions to alleviate and assist the practice’s administrative
workload. This clerical position will have an impact on department operations by completing
clerical tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

Required:
If expected to interact with people and/or answer the phones, for safety and quality
reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with
patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team,

SECTION 4: JOB FUNCTIONS

As part of the practice team, this position:
Performs a variety of clerical duties as outlined by clear guidance and policies and
procedures, which may include functions such as:
o Referencing data from a database or computer system and documenting and/or
communicating as appropriate
o Collecting specific information from patients and others
o Sorting and distributing mail
o Sorting and filing records and files
o Scanning and faxing documents
o Coping and collating materials
o Pulling records and files
o Inputting specific data in limited fields
o Cleaning out and organizing storage areas and filing cabinets
o Packing files and documenting contents for long term storage
o Providing back up phone coverage, answering the phone in a polite and courteous
manner, directing calls as appropriate and answering basic, repetitive questions
