Seasonal Christmas Program Assistant Jobs in Waterville at Maine Children’s Home
Primary Function:To serve as an assistant to The Christmas Program Director. The Seasonal Assistant is responsible for helping with the program process including application review, packing, distribution, and inventory management. The Seasonal Assistant will work closely with the Christmas Program Director, Assistant, and program volunteers.
Essential Duties: These are the core component duties for the position and are not to be considered an inclusive list.
· Assist with processing incoming donations and organizing inventory.
· Assist with application review and preparation
· Assist with contacting families
· Assist with moving and organizing packed gift boxes.
· Assist with packing and distribution of gift boxes.
· Provide guidance and support to volunteers; ensure there are adequate supplies available.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma. Preferred experience in a social service environment. Must have experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook. They must have strong organizational skills, be detail-oriented, self-motivated, can work with minimal supervision, and be able to handle stressful situations where multi-tasking is essential. The work schedule will require some evening work and potentially occasional weekend days, primarily during November/December.
Physical Demands/Conditions:
Moderate lifting (to 35 lbs.) required. Moderate reaching, walking, and standing for long periods of time required. Must be able to comfortably move up and down stairs.
