Job Overview

The Medical Specialties Division is recruiting a full‑time Administration Coordinator to support the Rheumatology team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract due to limited funding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for patients, relatives, GPs and external hospital staff via phone and email.
  • Maintain the face of the Rheumatology team, assisting patients with queries and ongoing care.
  • Prioritise own workload efficiently while supporting colleagues to meet changing team and service demands.
  • Coordinate bookings, scheduling and develop related processes.
  • Collaborate closely with administrative, clinical, allied health and support teams.
  • Contribute proactive solutions to routine challenges and support the Administration Team Leader.
  • Manage a busy and varied workload, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient IT skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to work well with a diverse professional team.
  • Well‑organised with a track record of prioritising tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience in NHS administration or a desire to start a career in this field.
