THE POSITION

This position is located within the PSERS’s Southwest Regional field office, located in Pittsburgh. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
- Copying and collating materials and providing basic preparatory work for retirement counseling presentations
- Greeting and addressing concerns of walk-ins with non-counseling issues or greeting counseling appointments
- Sending out routine member letters regarding appointments, retirement applications, and benefit summary letters
- Postage/mailing duties and responding to routine inquiries such as income verifications
- Assisting with office organization to include keeping inventory of supplies
- Gathering salary, contribution, service, and other related reporting components to aid the regional rep in the confirmation of reported data
- Assisting staff in creating reports
- Assisting on research projects as needed
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Work hours: A minimum of 10 to 15 hours per week during business hours of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Hours are flexible with school schedules, within these parameters. Further details can be discussed during the interview process.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
- Must be currently enrolled in college full-time (12 or more undergraduate credits or 9 or more graduate credits).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be in good academic standing (defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher).
Additional Requirements:
- Must be a Pennsylvania resident or currently enrolled at a Pennsylvania college or university for the duration of internship employment.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Available to work through the end of 2026 or longer.
- Possess professional skills such as communication skills, teamwork, time management, and organization.
- Prior customer service experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft products including Word and Excel.
- Have telephone etiquette, customer service skills, and typing skills
