Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our new plastic surgery practice with an in-office operating suite. In this vital role, you will perform roles as operating room circulator and sterilizer, PACU recovery nurse, and clinical nurse roles aiding in post-operative care for patients. As this is a new practice, you will also aid in front office and back office tasks as needed by the practice. Your energy and enthusiasm will help foster a positive environment for patients and staff alike. The ideal candidate is a team player, proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives through exceptional nursing practice. Experience in the operating room/PACU recovery is preferred. Experience in plastic surgery is preferred but not required.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history reviews to determine individual care needs.
- Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions, following strict aseptic techniques.
- Manage medical procedures such as catheterization, suture removal, wound care, and drain removal with precision and care.
- Monitor patient progress continuously, document medical records thoroughly using EMR systems, and update care plans accordingly.
- Provide patient education on health management, medication administration, pain management strategies, and discharge instructions.
- Assist in emergency situations by managing airway patency, ventilator support, and acute pain management protocols within hospital or urgent care settings.
- Sterilization of medical equipment
- Cleaning of Operating and Exam rooms per established policies
- Serving as operating room circulator, using sterile technique
- Serving as PACU recovery nurse, monitoring patient status, administering medications, starting IV lines, aiding in dressing patients, patient post-operative education
- Adding in front desk and back office tasks including answering phone calls, rooming patients, inventory, waste removal/cleaning as needed.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation and data retrieval.
- Skilled in performing invasive procedures like phlebotomy, venipuncture, sterile processing, laboratory specimen collection/processing.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and HIPAA compliance to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
- Critical thinking skills for triage assessment in urgent care or emergency scenarios
- Excellent communication skills for teaching patients

Pay: $39.00 per hour
