Position Overview
Daemen University, a dynamic liberal arts institution, seeks a Records and Registration Assistant – Alternative Programs Specialist to support the Registrar’s Office. This role involves managing student records, assisting with registration, grading, transcripts, and supporting various registrar processes. The position emphasizes process improvement, documentation, and direct support to students, faculty, alumni, and the campus community.
Key Responsibilities
Support process improvement, testing, and documentation of registrar procedures.
Assist students and faculty with registration, including schedule creation, add/drop, and petitions.
Manage grading processes, including incomplete grades, grade changes, and verification.
Create and maintain student academic files, utilizing Student Information Systems and electronic filing.
Coordinate with the National Student Clearinghouse for enrollment and degree verification.
Process updates from Committees of Academic Standards and admission files.
Assist with student status changes, transcript requests, transfer credits, and enrollment verifications.
Support processing of licensure applications, grading, attendance, and academic records.
Assist faculty and students with inquiries related to courses, grades, and records.
Support office communications, course file maintenance, and room assignments.
Perform receptionist duties and other assigned projects as needed.
Terms of Employment
Full-time, 35 hours/week, 12-month position with flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends during busy periods.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in a related field; 1-2 years of higher education or related experience.
Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Proficiency in computer systems, including student information systems and office software.
Ability to handle confidential information per FERPA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SIS systems like Ellucian Colleague, Banner, or People Soft.
Experience in higher education, especially with academic records.
Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and testing.
