Family Foot and Ankle Clinic is a private practice Podiatry Clinic serving 7 locations in Wisconsin, and we are seeking a compassionate and driven non- certified Receptionist/Podiatry Assistant for our Weston Location. No schooling or certification required as we even provide on the job training for those eager to learn!
Hours: 8:00 am -5:00 pm, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Starting May will also be every other Tuesday 8:00am – 5:00pm
Travel: Applicant must have the ability to very occasionally travel to our other facilities; such as Merrill, Wausau and Stevens Point
Overview
This is a dual role, both Receptionist and Medical Office Assistant.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic by providing exceptional customer service and administrative support. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively with both patients and healthcare professionals.
Receptionist Duties
- Assist in medical record requests, referrals, and authorizations clinic-wide
- Assist in Scheduling appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar efficiently.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including insurance information and medical history.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Records systems for data entry and record keeping.
- Assist in the preparation of patient charts for upcoming appointments.
- Handle patient inquiries regarding services, appointments, and billing matters.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the office environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate patient care and follow-up.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant include the following:
- Greet patients and visitors politely and escorts them to exam room
- Assisting with front desk reception as needed
- Interview patients to obtain medical history information and update EMR accordingly
- Help remove and put back on foot gear and/or dressings
- Explain treatment procedures to patients and prepare patients for examination.
- Assist physician as needed in patient care
- Cleans/straightens exam rooms between patients; disposes contaminated supplies
- Stocks exam rooms with necessary supplies
- Takes molds of feet for orthotics and diabetic shoes/inserts and completes the necessary paperwork
- Dispenses shoes and orthotics
- Provide pre-op orders/instructions to patient
- Keeps track of equipment and supplies
The Podiatric Assistant will be required to protect patient’s rights by maintaining confidentiality and following office policies and procedures. They will contribute to the team effort and perform other duties deemed necessary and appropriate by the office manager.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is also frequently required to stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Experience Requirements:
-High school diploma or equivalent
– Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is a plus
– Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for providing patient care
– Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is preferred
– X-ray certification is a plus
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical office administration is a plus.
