Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay: $24.00 – $26.00 per hour (based on experience)

Long® Fence, an industry leader for more than 80 years, is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Agent to join our team in Ijamsville, Maryland. This is a full-time, in-office position responsible for supporting operations by ensuring materials and services are purchased accurately, efficiently, and at competitive prices. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue purchase orders for goods and services by comparing specifications, pricing, and vendor options.
- Negotiate with vendors to obtain competitive pricing and favorable delivery timelines.
- Manage purchasing activities by submitting orders, tracking order status, and expediting deliveries when necessary.
- Verify incoming shipments by comparing items ordered to items received and resolve discrepancies with suppliers or vendors.
- Enter purchasing and order information accurately into the company’s corporate system.
- Maintain organized records by sorting, filing, and managing purchasing documentation.
- Communicate with the corporate office regarding accounts, invoices, and purchasing records.
- Assist with maintaining strong vendor relationships and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar purchasing/procurement role.
- Ability to work full-time in an office setting (this position is not remote).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams.
- Reliable transportation and ability to commute to the Ijamsville, MD office daily.
Compensation
Minimum Hourly Rate $24.00
Maximum Hourly Rate $26.00 per hour
The hourly rate is dependent upon experience.
