The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Planning & Community Assistance, has a full-time vacancy for a Program Assistant II.
SUMMARY :
To coordinate, monitor, and maintain project and financial information for locally administered projects and other bureau administrated services and programs, including Block Grant Aid.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience: Equivalent combination of 3 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Combination of education and experience in business management/administration, accounting or related fields.
License/Certification: Valid driver’s license
Other Requirements: Applicant’s Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards established by the hiring agency.
Trainee Option: Not Applicable
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Requires thorough knowledge of MS Office software and the ability to learn other standard computer software in order to manipulate data between different software and maintain the Bureau webpage.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
DETAILED TASKS (AGENCY/POSITION-SPECIFIC):
Maintains accurate financial records of State and Federal Aid Programs administered by Bureau of Transportation, Bureau of Planning and Community Assistance.
Reviews, clarifies and explains Department services and program regulations and policies through contact with Federal, State and Municipal officials, other specialists within the agency and the public.
Coordinates the transfer of technical data from engineering section to Federal, State and Municipal officials in the form of financial and engineering reports for individual projects.
Prepares program status reports for distribution to Federal, State and Municipal agencies or officials.
Monitors and tracks project activities to insure adherence to and compliance with program Policies and Procedures.
Research, compiles and summarizes financial data and prepares reports and documents used in administrative decision-making.
May supervise one or more clerical employees.
