2. About the Opportunity:
The Prior Authorization Specialist is responsible for managing the entire prior authorization process to ensure timely testing and claims processing. This role is essential for facilitating communication among clients, insurance companies, patients, and sales representatives to obtain necessary authorizations. The position supports efficient claim management through accurate documentation and use of billing systems, directly impacting patient service and organizational operations.
3. Responsibilities:
• Collect necessary documentation for prior authorizations
• Contact clients for additional information to complete prior authorizations
• Identify and submit prior and retro authorization requests to payors accurately and on time
• Interact with clients, insurance companies, patients, and sales representatives as needed
• Document account activity and update patient and claim information
• Utilize the XIFIN billing system to optimize claims processing
• Identify trends or issues causing delays in prior authorizations
• Provide high-level customer service to internal and external clients
4. Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of customer service experience in the healthcare industry
• Proficiency in the XIFIN system preferred
• Proficiency in the Glidian system preferred
• High accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
• Ability to organize systematic paper and electronic files
• Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
• Must be able to work from home
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• Hiring range: $19.26 to $23.00 per hour, with the actual rate determined by experience and other legally permitted factors
