Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing using systems such as Quickbooks, Workday, Paychex, or ADP to ensure timely and accurate employee compensation.
- Perform data entry and maintain payroll records with precision, including hours worked, deductions, bonuses, and benefits contributions.
- Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting practices, ensuring consistency with financial statements and compliance standards.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Support HR functions such as onboarding new employees, maintaining personnel files, and assisting with benefits administration.
- Conduct account reconciliations for accounts payable and receivable related to payroll expenses; prepare journal entries for financial accuracy.
- Assist with governmental reporting requirements related to taxes, social security contributions, and other statutory obligations.
- Collaborate with accounting teams on accounting procedures when applicable; ensure adherence to relevant regulations.
- Perform analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors; implement corrective actions promptly.
- Support the accounts payable process by verifying vendor invoices related to payroll costs and processing payments efficiently.
- Run payroll or business errands as necessary.
- Other duties as required
Experience
- Proven experience in payroll management using systems such as Quickbooks, Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, or UltiPro is essential.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software like QuickBooks or similar platforms; familiarity with general ledger reconciliation and bookkeeping practices.
- Demonstrated understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and technical accounting principles.
- Prior experience in human resources support functions such as benefits administration and employee onboarding is highly desirable.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing proficiency) are required to manage large volumes of payroll data efficiently.
- Knowledge of tax regulations related to payroll processing and governmental reporting requirements is a plus.
- Analytical skills to interpret financial data accurately and resolve discrepancies swiftly are crucial for success in this role.
