**Job Summary**
The Payment Recovery Correspondent analyzes and determines the
corrective action required to administer proper collection procedures
for claims that have been previously processed incorrectly for all lines
of business and product types, using written and telephone
correspondence.

**What you'll do**
Responsibilities
- Conduct audits of claims processed to assure adherence to processing
policies and guidelines.
- Pursue and manage recovery of overpayments and apply recoveries.
- Collaborate between the Claims and the Finance departments to ensure
the proper accounting of returned checks, proper addresses for
providers, collections of outstanding overpayments, replacement
checks, and refunds.
- Generate Collection Letters for all lines of business.
- Research ACES/CSI, eligibility, history, and purged history, to
identify the claim(s) that need adjusted upon receipt of an
unidentified refund check.
- Create and route CSI/OTIS & Image to other areas for claim
adjustments.
- Update the Workday system with the appropriate transactions to close
open payments, debits, and credits to keep corporate accounting in
balance.
- Respond to telephone and written inquiries in a courteous, timely,
and accurate manner for both internal and external customers.
**What you need**
**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities**
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability and interest in working accurately with mathematics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be proficient in the systems used by the department after
completion of training.
- Knowledge of multiple lines of business/product types preferred.
Education And Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum one year experience in Claims or BCBSKS Customer Service
required.
**Physical Requirements**
Requires constant and intense concentration to complete job functions
with intermittent interruptions. Work is onsite only and requires keying
at a P.C. up to 85% of the day.
**Compensation**
**$20.96- $26.20**
**Non- Exempt Grade 11**
