The Patient Service Representative (PSR) provides administrative and clinical support to the UPH‑Meriter Center for Perinatal Care (CPC) and UW Health Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) leadership and clinical teams. The PSR performs tasks supporting department operations and all aspects of patient referrals from outside providers. Responsibilities include transcribing orders, interpreting clinical referral data, and performing routine clerical functions related to patient prior authorization, registration, and scheduling.
The PSR greets and registers patients on arrival for CPC appointments. This position may have access to confidential patient information. It supports the CPC with administrative duties to coordinate care between UPH‑Meriter hospital and clinics, UW Health, and outside referring providers.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and clinical support to the CPC and MFM leadership and clinical teams.
- Transcribe orders and interpret clinical referral data.
- Perform routine clerical functions related to patient prior authorization, registration, and scheduling.
- Greet and register patients on arrival for CPC appointments.
- Coordinate care between UPH‑Meriter hospital and clinics, UW Health, and outside referring providers.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with privacy and security requirements.
Qualifications
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience:
Previous customer service experience and understanding of basic medical terminology.
