Patient Care Technician – Special Care Unit Jobs in Gloversville at Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home
Job Purpose: The Patient Care Technician provides basic nursing care to patients, transports patients within the hospital, and monitors a safe and clean environment. The Patient Care Technician provides clerical support, including order entry, as the patient care and patient flow requires.
Work is performed under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with established hospital standards, nursing department structure and standards, established regulatory and accreditation requirements, and the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific groups, which include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within three (6) months of transfer or hire
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within three (6) months of transfer or hire
Experience: One (1) year experience as a Nurse Assistant or equivalent experience in healthcare setting.
Preferred: Emergency Department, Critical Care, and EMT experience or Medical Office Assistant training.
