Job Title: Patient Access Specialist/Call Center Agent
Location: Durham, North Carolina
Contract Length: 3 months with possible extension
Hours: M-F from 7:30-4:00
Onboarding Process: 3 weeks
Overview
The Patient Access Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience within our healthcare facility. This position involves managing patient interactions, facilitating the registration process, and ensuring accurate collection of medical records. The ideal candidate will possess strong clerical skills and a background in medical or dental environments, contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations.
Duties
- Greet and assist patients upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Manage patient registration processes, including verifying insurance information and collecting necessary documentation.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding standards.
- Handle phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and provide information regarding services offered.
- Process medical collections efficiently while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth patient transitions within the facility.
- Assist in administrative tasks as needed to support the overall operations of the clinic or hospital.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Patient Access Representative or in a similar clerical role is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical records management and coding (ICD-10, ICD-9).
- Experience working in a dental clinic or hospital setting is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in handling phone systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A compassionate demeanor with a focus on providing excellent patient service.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $19.00 – $21.00 per hour
