Part Time Executive and Personal Assistant Jobs in Pleasant Hill at Music for Life Kids!

Part Time Executive and Personal Assistant

In Person (Home Office): Pleasant Hill, CA

Entry level, $20 to $25/hour

Part time ~ 20 hours per week

Are you the kind of person who:

  • Is low ego, highly adaptable, street smart, intelligent, and resourceful, and genuinely enjoys helping people
  • Is comfortable doing whatever needs to get done, whether that means researching systems, turning complex problems into simple solutions, grabbing coffee, organizing materials, running errands, or taking my dog to the groomer because it opens up space and keeps things moving
  • Likes jumping into fast moving environments and figuring things out, and also knows when to slow down, research, ask questions, and understand the right sequence before acting Is a learn it all, not a know it all
  • Can handle direct feedback, quick redirection, and intensity without getting emotionally thrown off
  • Enjoys supporting ambitious people because you are ambitious yourself Sees something that needs to get done and simply handles it

I am an intense person. I move quickly, think quickly, and communicate very directly. I cannot spend my time worrying that honest feedback, redirection, asking you to do something again, or saying exactly what I need is going to upset someone or create emotional fallout. If you are highly sensitive, easily offended, or need communication to be heavily softened or sugarcoated, this probably will not be the right environment for you.

If reading this excites you, keep reading.

If this sounds overwhelming, frustrating, or like the exact opposite of your dream job, this probably is not the right fit.

About the company, me and the role itself

I am the founder and CEO of Music for Life Kids, musicforlifekids.com, a classical music education company for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old.

Every week, our traveling music teachers teach more than 3,000 children across the United States, from the East Coast to the West Coast, at hundreds of schools. We have built specialized early childhood music programs that combine piano, rhythm, movement, music theory, world music, and hands on learning experiences designed specifically for young children.

We train our teachers in our curriculum and methodology, and they travel directly into schools to teach our programs in person.

I started teaching and developing these methodologies when I was in high school and officially incorporated the company while I was in college studying biology, physics, computer science, and advanced calculus on the pre med track.

I tend to love highly complex things and naturally think in systems, patterns, layers, and massive amounts of information. Honestly, one of my weaknesses is that I can overcomplicate things because my brain wants to connect everything together at once. That is part of why I need the right person beside me, someone intelligent enough to think deeply and strategically, but grounded enough to simplify, organize, prioritize, and turn complexity into clarity and execution.

While working inside my parents’ child care center, I became fascinated by the idea that young children could understand advanced concepts if those ideas were taught in ways they could physically experience and emotionally connect to.

That philosophy became the foundation of Music for Life Kids.

I strongly believed preschool aged children were capable of far more than most people assumed, including truly learning music theory and piano in a real and meaningful way. Today, our programs have taught more than 100,000 children, with a current 78% success rate teaching piano to children between the ages of 3 and 6.

One very important thing about me is that I do some of my best thinking while driving.

I often go for drives to think, strategize, problem solve, and organize ideas. You will be a co pilot in the passenger seat, helping me pull things up, read documents aloud, take notes, organize ideas, and stay productive while I drive.

If you tend to get motion sickness, this will not be the right role for you.

You must consider yourself a classical musician who is passionate about music education. It is important to me that my right hand person genuinely comes from that world because Music for Life Kids is built by classical musicians, for children, and that perspective matters.

Creativity and problem solving come from many different places. Sometimes it comes through driving and thinking. Sometimes it comes through conversation, reading a good book, movement, music, or simply creating enough mental space for ideas to connect.

Next Steps

The next step in the hiring process is an asynchronous interview. One of my first questions during that interview is going to be:

“What instrument do you play, and would you like to play a duet with me?”

I ask that because creativity comes in many forms, and I would genuinely love to play a duet with you.

Applicants will complete a background check and drug screening. Music for Life Kids is a drug free workplace.
