Our practice provides comprehensive eye care, from routine exams and contact lens fittings to advanced diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as glaucoma and cataracts. Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary vision testing, including visual acuity, visual fields, and autorefraction
- Obtain and document patient medical histories in the EHR system
- Assist with contact lens fittings and educate patients on proper insertion, removal, and care
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as tonometry and retinal imaging
- Support front desk operations, including scheduling, phone communication, and patient check-in/check-out
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with both English- and Spanish-speaking patients
- Maintain accurate patient charts and records
- Assist with insurance processing, billing support, and claims submission
- Provide outstanding customer service and answer patient questions
- Assist patients with eyewear and contact lens selections
Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
- Previous experience as an optometric technician or in a healthcare or retail setting preferred but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working with a diverse patient population
- Familiarity with insurance billing and medical coding is a plus
- Basic math skills and comfort with retail sales helpful
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a bonus

Schedule
- Hiring either two part-time employees or one full-time employee (total of 40 hours per week)
- One weekday off (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday)
- Must be available to work all Saturdays
- Must be available to work all Mondays
