Position Summary

We are seeking a versatile Office Support Specialist to provide vital clerical and administrative support to our Homer office. As the first point of contact for our agency, you will welcome visitors, manage communications, and assist with essential community programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reception & Communication: Answer incoming calls, greet walk-in visitors, take messages, and manage staff calendars.
  • Clerical Support: Handle data entry, filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, and maintaining office supplies.
  • Program Assistance: Sell vouchers for the Supported Transportation program and maintain tracking data.
  • Community Closet Coordination: Field equipment inquiries, manage inventory, and assist with receiving and cleaning equipment.
  • Financial Tasks: Reconcile daily accounts receivable and perform weekly bank deposits.
  • Office Maintenance: Oversee routine upkeep of office machines and maintain organized common areas.
  • Data & Confidentiality: Input consumer contacts into the electronic database while strictly maintaining file confidentiality.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education/Experience: Associate degree in Human Services or Business Management, OR equivalent experience related to the independent living philosophy.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency with personal computers and accurate data entry.
  • Core Abilities: Strong multitasking skills, ability to work under tight deadlines, and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively with a diverse group of people.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Personal experience with a disability or the independent living movement.
  • Knowledge of local community resources and programs.
  • Familiarity with rural Alaska lifestyles, challenges, Native Alaskan cultures, and traditional values.

Pay: $18.00 – $21.00 per hour
