  • Receives, opens, sorts and distributes incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail.
  • Prepares data for input to a variety of accounting systems in areas of billing, tap fees, cash receipts and cash disbursements.
  • Maintains a variety of files required for complete reference and operational records.
  • Match invoices and purchase orders verifying obligations, taking advantage of all discounts.
  • Types routine materials including letters, memoranda, reports, etc., from copy or rough draft.
  • Issue work orders.
  • Responds to a wide variety of inquiries and complaints in person, by telephone, and by correspondence, referring more complex problems to a supervisor.
  • Collects fees, issues receipts and keeps records of transactions.
  • Maintain good customer relations in the areas of billing, collection and general information.
  • Orders supplies and materials necessary to accomplish all assigned tasks and objectives.
  • Other related responsibilities as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Knowledge of the rules, regulations, policies and procedures governing the operation of the District and the ability to explain and interpret same. Ability to operate 10 key calculator and type 30 wpm. Ability to prepare, process and file a variety of forms, records, correspondence and reports. Ability to make simple mathematical computations and transfer numeric and/or alphabetic data from one document to another rapidly and accurately. Thorough knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation with the ability to accurately proof read work product. Ability to establish and maintain effective communications and working relationships with District officials, fellow workers, consultants, contractors, other governmental agencies and the general public.

Education: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent. Must accept and complete all required District training.

Experience: One year of general office experience dealing with the public.

Special Requirements: Must possess valid Colorado drivers’ license. Must pass appropriate security check. Must maintain any State required certification.

Hiring Range: $22.00-$25.00/hr
