    JOB DESCRIPTION

    HOURLY PAY RANGE: $18.53/hour and benefits package

    NUMBER OF WORKDAYS: 215 Days (which includes 11 paid holidays)

    WORKDAY HOURS: 7:30-4:00 PM

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and Experience: (Minimum Level of Education and Experience Required)

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (Minimum Competencies for Job Performance)

    High school diploma or equivalent with post-secondary education preferred. Experience in office administrative support desired. Demonstrated computer proficiency in word processing, database and spreadsheet programs.

    Knowledge of data privacy and confidentiality. Ability to: take initiative and work in an unsupervised setting, prioritize workflow in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions and operate standard office equipment.

    Ability to communicate effectively through excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent organizational skills with the expectations to work respectfully and confidentially with people of all ages.


    JOB GOAL:
    Assist the building principal in providing for the needs of staff members, students, parents/guardians, and the general public.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    General Secretarial

    60%
    Assist in the general administrative operations of the school site for the purpose of providing assistance with administrative functions and supporting the principal in the day-to-day operations of the school.

    • Assist in preparing general correspondence/announcements
    • Receive, sort, process, and direct mail to appropriate persons when needed.
    • Arrange meetings, conferences, and retreats for school administration and staff.
    • Assist with collecting, posting and printing of summative student grades each quarter using student information system.
    • Provide support for the principal’s school calendar, schedule and maintain appointments for the principal and other staff as assigned.
    • Maintain building calendar.
    • Assist in key distribution and record keeping for building.

    • Monitor incoming applicants
    • Assist in preparing employment documents
    • Absence Management
    • Utilize absence management system to fill vacancies
    • Secure substitute teachers on a day to day basis
    • Weekly reconciliation of substitute log
    • Assist in preparation of yearly budget
    • Perform maintenance of schools emergency toolkit and emergency communication tools.
    • Update and print school handbook
    • Run building reports for principal/staff
    • Order and maintain building supplies
    • Prepare and follow up with purchase orders
    • Maintain school’s activity account

    Receptionist

    • Answer telephone
    • Receive visitors

    Miscellaneous

    • Assist in copy machine and printer maintenance
    • Provide support for the health office
    • Other duties as assigned

    PHYSICAL EFFORT:

    • Light to moderate degree of physical stamina and occasional lifting up to 25
    lbs.
    • Ability to sit for a portion of time, but will involve standing, walking, and
    bending.
    • Ability to hear the telephone ring and to hear and respond to questions from
    visitors and callers.
    • Ability to use the telephone, computer, and other office equipment for
    extended periods of time.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:
