Position Overview

The Payroll Assistant provides comprehensive payroll support within the lending function, with strong emphasis on loan officer compensation administration and investor relations. This role is essential to ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of Loan Officer payroll while maintaining strong investor partnerships and supporting leadership in achieving operational efficiency and growth.

Key Responsibilities

Investor Relations & Management

  • Research, identify, and onboard new investors and lending partners to expand company relationships
  • Manage the onboarding process for new investors, including documentation, registration, and system setup
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing investors through consistent communication and follow-up
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for investor inquiries, requests, and issue resolution
  • Monitor and maintain investor guidelines, requirements, and overlays to ensure loan compliance
  • Coordinate delivery of loan packages and required documentation to investors
  • Ensure all submissions meet investor-specific requirements and timelines

Loan Officer Payroll Administration

  • Collaborate directly with the Company President and HR team to manage and oversee loan officer payroll
  • Track loan officer commissions, bonuses, and compensation structures based on closed loans
  • Calculate and prepare accurate payroll data in alignment with compensation agreements
  • Maintain detailed records of commission plans, payments, and adjustments
  • Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely and professional manner
  • Partner with Accounting and HR teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing

Compliance & Quality Control

  • Ensure all loan documentation, investor communications, and payroll processes comply with internal policies and industry regulations
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready records for loans, investor files, and compensation data
  • Assist in internal and external audits as needed
  • Any other task as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or related field preferred
  • Understanding of Loan pricing and profitability will be highly preferred
  • 2–4+ years of experience in mortgage lending, loan processing, or similar role
  • Experience managing investor relationships and loan delivery processes preferred
  • Familiarity with commission-based payroll and compensation tracking
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Loan Origination Systems (LOS) preferred
