Position Overview

Cocoon is seeking a warm, highly organized Membership & Operations Associate to support the daily member experience at our Tribeca clubhouse.

This full-time role blends front desk operations, membership tours, programming support, early childhood classes, and family events. The Membership & Operations Associate serves as a key point of continuity within the club—welcoming families, supporting prospective members, helping daily operations run smoothly, assisting with classes and programming, and contributing to Cocoon’s high-touch events and community experiences.

This position is ideal for someone who is customer-focused, energized by working with young children, and able to move comfortably between administrative, member-facing, educational, and event-support responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities1. Front Desk Operations & Member Experience

  • Serve as a primary front desk lead, ensuring a warm, polished, and efficient member experience
  • Manage daily front desk flow, including arrivals, schedules, coverage awareness, and operational needs
  • Welcome members, caregivers, children, guests, and prospective families with professionalism and warmth
  • Respond to member inquiries via Zendesk, email, phone, and in-person communication
  • Support member needs related to enrollment, class policies, schedules, make-ups, cancellations, and general club information
  • Maintain front desk supplies, materials, swag bags, and other member-facing inventory
  • Share daily huddle updates via Slack, communicating key notes, priorities, and operational needs
  • Help ensure the club feels clean, calm, organized, and guest-ready throughout the day

2. Membership Tours & Sales Support

  • Lead in-person membership tours for prospective families, confidently communicating Cocoon’s offerings, values, membership benefits, and community experience
  • Serve as a knowledgeable first point of contact for sales inquiries
  • Support lead follow-up, prospective member questions, and enrollment workflows
  • Collaborate with the Club Director and Membership & Operations leadership to support conversion goals and seasonal sales initiatives
  • Represent Cocoon’s brand with warmth, clarity, confidence, and professionalism

3. Early Childhood Classes & Programming Support

  • Teach, assist, or substitute in Cocoon classes, camps, and special programming as needed
  • Facilitate developmentally appropriate music, movement, sensory, art, storytelling, and play-based experiences for children ages 3 months–6 years, with a focus on infants and toddlers
  • Build warm relationships with children, caregivers, and families
  • Support classroom readiness, material preparation, lesson flow, organization, and reset
  • Assist with lesson planning, curriculum updates, rosters, enrollment tracking, partner reporting, and Airtable systems as needed

4. Events & Birthday Party Support

  • Support the setup, execution, and breakdown of birthday parties, member events, and special experiences
  • Assist with decorations, food and drink stations, table arrangements, bounce houses, helium balloons, goodie bags, and other event needs
  • Help serve food and drinks during events in line with event requirements and safety guidelines
  • Support smooth guest flow and family experience in partnership with the Events team
  • Bring energy and creativity to children’s event experiences, including music, games, light entertainment, open-ended art, or interactive activities as needed
  • Help maintain cleanliness and orderliness of event spaces and shared areas throughout events

5. Safety, Cleanliness & Daily Operations

  • Help uphold Cocoon’s health, safety, and supervision procedures across programs and shared spaces
  • Support child supervision on the floor, during programming, and during events as needed
  • Assist in emergency situations in alignment with Cocoon protocols
  • Support opening, closing, classroom reset, and end-of-day procedures
  • Collaborate closely with team members across Membership & Operations, Education, Events, and Facilities

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, education, camps, youth programming, membership services, or family-facing environments
  • Experience working with young children strongly preferred, especially infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children
  • Background in early childhood education, music, theater, performance, visual arts, or creative programming preferred
  • Experience with events, hospitality, or front desk operations preferred
  • Comfortable engaging with children through play, songs, stories, movement, art, or sensory experiences
  • Comfortable using or learning systems such as Zendesk, Slack, Airtable, scheduling tools, and membership platforms
  • Able to stay calm, polished, and solutions-oriented in a busy, child-centered environment
  • Comfortable with hands-on responsibilities, including setup, organization, cleaning, inventory, and maintaining guest-ready spaces
  • Background check required

Position Details

Position Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Sunday–Thursday

Location: Tribeca, NYC

Compensation: This is a full-time salaried position with a base salary of $62,000, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus of up to 5% of base salary. At full achievement, the bonus equals $3,100, bringing total potential annual compensation to $65,100.
