Legacy Post Acute Care is currently looking to hire a fulltime Medical Records Director. Our 5-star 87 bed facility has been a family owned business for more than 40 years. We are conveniently located in Martinez, on highway 4 next door to Concord and Pleasant Hill. We offer a competitive rate based upon experience. The purpose of this position is to implement facility policies and procedures to organize and maintain the medical record (health information) system in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Also, to maintain a medical record system to meet the needs of the facility.
Job Summary/Responsibilities:
- Implement policies and procedures to maintain the medical record system in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Protect medical record information from loss, defacing, or destruction before the retention period ends.
- Identify incomplete, late, and inaccurate documentation.
- Ensure Medicare residents have timely certification/re-certification forms signed by the attending physician.
- Perform all duties assigned in an effective, timely and professional manner.
- Assisting with documentation
- Consistently work cooperatively with residents’ representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers.
- Ability to understand and comply with applicable Federal, State, and local regulations and requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum education level; High School or equivalent
- Minimum 1 years experience as a Medical Records department lead
- Hospital or Nursing facility experience required
- Successful participation in the Survey processes; Title 22 and Federal.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Patience and tact when interacting with patients, family members, State agencies, and auditors.
