Responsibilities
- Supervise the organization, storage, and retrieval of medical records to ensure confidentiality and compliance with privacy laws.
- Oversee the maintenance and updating of electronic health record (EHR) systems to guarantee data accuracy and accessibility.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure timely documentation and proper handling of medical records for all patients.
- Manage inventory levels of medical supplies within the central supply area, including ordering, receiving, and distributing supplies as needed.
- Implement procedures for proper storage, sterilization, and disposal of medical supplies in accordance with safety standards.
- Train and supervise staff responsible for medical records management and supply distribution to foster a high-performing team.
- Conduct regular audits of medical records and supply inventories to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office environment or healthcare setting, with familiarity in managing medical records.
- Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in maintaining digital documentation.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology to accurately interpret and organize patient information.
- Experience in managing medical supplies, inventory control, or central supply operations.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure compliance with privacy regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to lead a team effectively, providing training and guidance on best practices for record keeping and supply management.
